Dr. Vasiliki “Vickie” Meisenburg graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida. She received numerous awards for
scholastic, leadership and business aptitude excellence.
While attending veterinary school, Dr. Meisenburg had the honor of meeting, learning from and befriending Dr. Xie, the college’s clinical instructor and clinician for veterinary acupuncture and chinese veterinary medicine. Unfortunately, it was not under the best of circumstances as Dr. Meisenburg’s own beloved horse had succumbed to severe laminitis. With Dr. Xie’s wisdom and help from his graduates, the little horse now thrives despite such a severe physical disaster. As a result of her personal experience, Dr. Meisenburg vowed to make Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) an integral part of her veterinary practice and enjoys doing so to this day.
Dr. Meisenburg’s practice is located on 76 acres in Archer, Florida where she oversees and implements her veterinary duties at EquiGen, a reproduction clinic for horses. She enjoys folding TCVM into her equine reproduction practice with much success and benefit for horse and owner. Her ambulatory practice for acupuncture and chinese medicine includes monthly trips from Jacksonville to Wellington, Florida with an ever expanding local equine and canine clientele.
Since 2005, Dr. “Vickie” has been a regular lecture guest and instructor at the famed Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. She enthusiastically coaches the next generation of veterinarians from around the world who wish to learn the art of acupuncture and traditional chinese veterinary medicine. Her “Fire” personality lends her to be a creative, passionately energetic and caring teacher.
Trained in veterinary acupuncture, Tui Na therapy and chinese herbal therapies, Dr. Meisenburg is a rare veterinarian who embraces the best that both western and eastern medicine have to offer. The further combination of being a long time practicing Buddhist and that bright light of “Fire” personality, lends her to be a special addition to any animals health care and their owners experience.
Presently, Vickie lives in Archer, Florida with her miniature dauchand “Zoli”, kitty “Kess”, land tortoise “Crazy Legs” and way too many horses. In addition to her practice, she enjoys dressage, oil painting, fitness training and enjoying the great outdoors with friends and family.
