Tricks to help the medicine go down

Remember, when considering what to “sweeten the deal” with to get your pet to take the medicine, we must consider what the food / treat we are using will do for the pattern issue they have. A dog with “Phlem” or “Damp” issues should not be fed dairy or anything fatty so cheese, yogurt and liverwurst is out as an option in that particular case. An overweight pet will need a low-fat treat as the bait. Dr. Meisenburg will be happy to help you with your choices!

  • Mix with a small amount of something wet, good for them and delectable. Plain yogurt, natural peanut butter, canned mackerel, heavy metal free fish oil, wet food, canned pumpkin...
  • Wrap capsules in a piece of cheese, liverwurst, moist pet food.
  • Give them their chinese medicine BEFORE you feed them breakfast or dinner so they are hungry.
